DO YOU COMUNICATE S-A-F-E?

Organizing ideas and collecting insights regarding the matter "effective communication" I realized that, the good communicators give their messages using three essential tools - Self-awareness, Feedbacks, and Empathy.
Together, those instruments create what I am calling here "the SAFE communication technique".

Breaking down each of those elements, we find that:

Self-awareness - Every excellent communicator is attentive to his interactions and is aware of the impact that his way of being has on his image. The great communicators build initially, his way of expressing himself and interacting with others. He is attentive to his feelings and for that reason, works his reactions thoroughly.
It is crucial to highlight that self-knowledge prevents your body language (which, according to studies, represents 65% of communication) from been unadjusted with your verbal expression.
To reach the right communicator level, reading articles and books is also of great use since the reading tools help us to simplify speech and direct language.

Feedback– The skilled communicator is open to receiving feedback from people, and when communicating, he observes their reactions. Eye contact is essential to adjust speech to the audience's level of understanding and helps to build credibility and friendliness.
Furthermore, in all aspects of human life, it is always important to be able to count on the honest opinion of trusted people. Listening to honest feedback is extremely useful for adjusting ignored points for yourself. Besides, asking for advice can expand the vision and the way of thinking.

Empathy - Exceptional communicators are attentive to the audience's feelings, know how to put themselves in the other's shoes, considers the moment and the opinion of others and is always able to clarify his point of view, never blaming the other for not understanding the message.
The skilled communicator knows how to listen, and when he disagrees with the opinion of others, he does it with respect and softness.
He does not respond to critical provocations; he responds to it. He takes into account that encouraging people to think differently is extremely important to create a network capable of covering aspects in which a single vision would not reach.
The great communicator is grateful and supports people who present their opposing opinions as they take into account their feelings and their effort to contribute to the discussion. Also, the empathetic person will always find points of agreement and will be able to focus on these to find harmony in the debate.

The practical application of this technique will unfold in 3 practical exercises:
Exercise 1:
The person working on the communication will tell how a professional achievement of his election took place, but without sound emission. The other members of the session will then describe the story only from observing the body language.
In the second stage, the person will then reveal the story.

Exercise 2:
The person will create a game, blindfolded, will give verbal instructions to the other team members. Without the possibility to ask questions, the team will then follow the guidance given and play the game. The person giving the instructions will only observe if their directions were clear enough.

Exercise 3:
The person working on communication will give a lecture about assertive communication to himself, in the triangular mirror. The matter will be previously studied, the other members of the session will be listening to the lecture, but will not have visual access. Only the person performing the exercise will have visual access, from the crowd of himself that the triangular mirror offers.
At the end of the lecture, the speaker will describe how he felt and what he observed in himself that until now, he was not conscious.

We apply this technique to help employees to build points of clear interaction and to express themselves adequately.
This technique will help to gain perspective on how to present oneself and the positive impact that the appropriate communication have on passing the message.
