BSC - Balance Score Card
The Balance ScoreCard (BSC) was developed by Kaplan and Norton and is a business tool that aims to promote management transparency to achieve a balance of strategic lines and immediate actions.
This tool simplifies the apprehension of the company as a body, thus correlating action plans with the mission, vision and values of the company. Analysing the whole scenario, BSC promotes the necessary conditions to dissect the needs of providing training, financial follow-up, the development of internal processes and the relationship progress with customers and users.
Its main objective is to connect the company's long-term goals with the results and projects that the company seeks daily. Managers aim to use this tool as a way of not losing focus on decision making.
Each of the ideas included on BSC may primarily be filtered using the SMART tool.
With the use of SMART, the businesses teams, analyse whether or not, the prediction of actions are doable and appropriate.
Those ideas (BSC and SMART) are generics and summarise all scenario of the company. They are useful, but after using them, some support of ideas seems to be missing, and the team can comprehend it in a wide range of different directions.
To regain the union of views and increase the cohesion of the company actions according to its vision, mission and values, I developed a useful tool that can be used to clarify specific ideas to the team, and guarantee that the company is entirely moving to the same direction.
CB-A PLAN
The simple idea of CB-A PLAN is to set an individual plan where every individual or a team can follow with accuracy.
The method approaches all dimensions of a strategy to achieve an objective and clearly communicating it.
To use this method, we have to follow specific steps and can be used as a guide for meetings:
1º - Set an individual objective that materialises a unit of the vision - (this objective will be taken from the BSC board).
2º- Adjust this objective to the mission/vision/values of the company and reaffirm its importance.
3º - Search ways in which the objective can be achieved, observe how others have managed to perform it and create new ideas.
4º - Learn new abilities and skills that can help you to perform better and produce success for the project.
5º- Observe problems and drawbacks that you had to deal and carefully collect the information about how you resolved it.
6º - Analyse the advantages and the disadvantages of the material performance.
7º - Always remember "small steps, small steps, big happenings". Be grateful and recompensate yourself and the people who contribute to your success.
